The Birth of a Dream: The Story of Crowders Camps

In 2005, a quiet but undeniable stirring began in my heart—one I couldn’t explain, ignore, or shake. I knew only this: God was calling me to start a camp. I didn’t have a blueprint. I didn’t have funding. All I had was a calling... and a willingness to start. For the next ten years, I rented facilities—patching together spaces and resources while learning, growing, and watching God move in ways I never expected. But in 2014, everything changed.

That year, God gave me a kind of faith I can’t quite explain—fierce, immovable, and blind to the odds. The voices of doubt didn’t matter. The obstacles didn’t matter. I knew lives would be changed, and that Camp was the vessel.

And so, through faith—and quite literally through blood (thanks to a self-inflicted chainsaw wound that left its own unforgettable mark)—Crowders Camps was born.

What began as a whisper in the heart has now become a movement. Since 2014, we’ve welcomed hundreds of thousands of campers to our properties. We've witnessed thousands of lives transformed by the life-giving message of Jesus Christ—His life, His death, and His resurrection.

But Crowders Camps isn’t just a place. We aren’t simply hosts. We are camp architects.

Every detail is intentional—from the adrenaline-pumping games we design, to the warmth of community built into our housing, to the meals that feel like home. But more than anything, we create time—sacred space—for life-changing relationships to take root.
