For this Generation
Now and Beyond
We exist to Ignite Sparks
in the next generation.
Our Mission and Belief
Our Mission is to reach this generation now and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ignite sparks of hope.
Our Beliefs:
THE BIBLE
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
THE TRINITY
One God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
THE FATHER
God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy.
THE SON
Jesus Christ is completely human, but at the same time completely God. He is the only plan for bringing people who are enemies of God back into a right relationship with God.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
His presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.
ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.
MAN
Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God, but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience.
SALVATION
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
Our Beginnings
Now Outreach/Crowders Camps is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian camp ministry focused on reaching as many campers with the Gospel as possible. We know and have seen how camp changes lives, and we want to make that experience possible for more kids throughout the Southeast. Not only does camp provide us with the opportunity to share about Jesus, but it also gives our campers opportunities to build confidence, develop relationships, and conquer challenges in a supportive environment.
We were blessed to acquire our first camp property in 2014. God did amazing things over the next few months to turn a broken down, unused camp facility into our beautiful Crowders Ridge camp in time for summer 2015. We have only grown and expanded from there, building a new meeting building, remodeling old buildings into stylish new apartments, building high ropes adventures, and so much more. Thousands of campers have enjoyed the property over the years, and we are now at capacity every summer.
New Growth
In 2019, Crowders Camps purchased a second property for the building of Crowders Springs camp. Less than 2 miles away from Crowders Ridge, we initially used the property for off-site camp activities like our new Aerial Park. Starting in summer 2022, we are opening a day camp on the location for grades 1-6, Kindergarten Camp, and Adventure Camp. Now, Crowders Springs is developed into a fully functioning overnight camp and retreat center for younger campers.
In 2026, Our founder accepted the upholding of the Life and Legacy of O.A and Charlotte Fish by leading South Mountain Christian Camp. In 2018, Jay stood in a lobby at a camp conference and came face to face with a camp legend: Captain O.A. Fish, the founder and longtime leader of South Mountain Christian Camp which was built in Jay’s home county, established in 1974. The lobby was full, people moving, laughing, networking. But for Jay, the moment felt bigger than the room. He looked into Captain Fish’s eyes and shook his hand, and it wasn’t just a handshake. It felt like a passing of something sacred. Like a quiet nod across generations: It was like they communicated silently.. We don’t know what’s coming…but we trust the Lord. Years passed. Captain Fish went home to be with Jesus in 2022. But his family wanted the vision to remain strong. They didn’t want the camp to become a memory. They wanted it to keep breathing, keep preaching, keep discipling, keep sending young people into the world with a fire for Christ. So in 2026, Jay received an unexpected invitation: Would he consider helping South Mountain Christian Camp carry that vision into the next era? Jay didn’t answer quickly. He prayed. He sought counsel. He weighed the responsibility. And after time with the Lord, he said yes. And just like that, South Mountain Christian Camp joined the Now Outreach/Crowders Camps family. Not as a takeover. Not as an inheritance. A continuation. A faithful “yes” to the next chapter of a story that began in 1974.
Our Future
Our future is to ignite sparks. We want to faithfully use our time, resources, and abilities to serve churches, families, organizations, and schools, and give them a life-changing camp experience. Our dream is to see sparks ignite in campers, and lives change for the glory of God. We would love for you to help us by supporting our scholarshipprogram. A gift, gives a week of camp to a kid who can not afford to attend. Click belowto make a donation. Thank you for partnering with us to change lives with the Gospel through camp ministry.
“One week of camp is like six months of relationship building with youth.”
